Amaneh Eskandari 1961

Amaneh Eskandari | Zohreh is an Iranian artist based in Paris. She works with painting, installation, photography, and video, often exploring the human body, shadows, self-portraits, and masks. Her art focuses on time, space, and movement, using a unique method she calls "Paintings in Movement". Her intuitive paintings reflect emotional and spiritual states, responding to modern life and human existence. She uses metaphors to create a mythical world and also makes performances and videos about humanity. In her performances and videos, she blends sight, motion, and sound to create fleeting experiences linked to memory and unrealized events. In 2001, she founded the international artists' group "Artistes Sans Frontières" in Paris. Its goal is to unite artists worldwide around the idea that "Art is born of an inherent conversation with self and other..." Zohreh started painting at age 8 in Tehran. Selected by the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, she moved to Paris in 1997 and has lived and worked there since. She is a member of France's Maison des Artistes.
