The Strada grant aims to contribute to the implementation of urban art forms outside the usual territories of artistic creation. It is divided into two parts: Strada Collectivités, for regional governments, and Strada Festivals, for non-profits that organise festivals. In total, two €7,500 grants are awarded each year.
The “Collectivités” grant is intended for regional governments that wish to commission an artist or artist collective to produce a work. Particular attention will be given to projects that target City Councils’ Priority Neighbourhoods (“Quartiers Prioritaires de la Politique de la Ville”) and rural areas.

How much is the Strada Collectivités grant?
A grant is awarded each year. Amounting to €7,500, it is divided as follows:
- €4,000 for the artist or artist collective;
- €3,500 for the commissioning regional government, covering the realisation of and support for the project.
Legal support from ADAGP on questions relating to the artist or artist collective’s copyright will be offered to the awarded regional government.
Who can apply?
Regional governments that wish to develop an urban art project by commissioning an artist or artist collective to produce an artwork.
This includes all French regional governments: municipalities, departments, regions, EPCIs (“Intermunicipal Cooperation Councils”), which include federations of municipalities and conurbation committees, metropolises, and DROMs (French overseas departments).
Regional governments may collaborate on the project with a partner.
For what kind of project?
The regional government must submit an application for a project that features an artist or artist collective from the French scene (has been working or living in France for at least five years, or is a French national living abroad).
The submitted project must involve the realisation of a creative work (wall, installation, collage, etc.). This work may be part of a larger plan, but the application may only concern one work.
The work may be permanent or temporary. It may be participatory or not.
The work must be produced within twelve months of the awarding of the grant.
What are the application requirements?
The application must be submitted in French. The process is available on ADAGP’s application platform.
