ADAGP contributes to the professional training of artists by helping to finance training initiatives and developing professional workshops. It also works with art schools and associations to raise awareness about copyright.
Training
For several years, the ADAGP has been providing financial support to various training organizations such as Artagon, Central Vapeur Pro, and 40mcube. Moreover, from 2012 to 2023, the ADAGP contributed to the continuing training of artist-authors by funding Afdas (the training insurance fund for the culture, communication, and leisure sectors), which offers both professional and cross-disciplinary training programs (such as Photoshop, web design, mastering the writing of proposals and artistic budgets, etc.).
ADAGP Professional Workshops
To support artists throughout their artistic career, ADAGP initiated the Professional Workshops.
These workshops make it possible to address specific issues involved in certain artistic disciplines found in the ADAGP repertory: fine arts, photography, comic books and children’s book illustrations, urban art, design and more. The workshops last a full day and are organized in small working groups.
Led by two expert trainers with a pedagogical approach, each workshop is aimed at dealing with practical cases experienced by each participating artist.
Upon completion of the Professional Workshops, the artist “trainees” will have concrete solutions and practical tools to make headway with the artistic issues they encounter.
"ADAGP en pratique" workshops
The ‘ADAGP en pratique’ training sessions enable ADAGP members to gain a better understanding of how their rights are managed by their authors’ society’s teams.
How does ADAGP manage copyright and the use of works? How can you ensure you receive your collective rights? What is AIR technology and how do you use it? What tools are available to you? How do you collect royalties when your works are streamed online, exhibited or reproduced? What initiatives does ADAGP offer to support artistic creation?
These are just some of the questions that will be answered in the “ADAGP in Practice” workshops.
A two-hour session, either online or in person at the ADAGP Auditorium, to learn everything you need to know about how ADAGP manages your rights.
"Angles droits" workshops
What is copyright and how do you manage it?, NFTs: what are the risks and opportunities for artists?, Respect for the artwork: an author’s moral right, etc. The ‘Angles droits’ legal training courses enable ADAGP members to better understand copyright, helping them to assert their rights.
A two-hour session, either online or in person at the ADAGP Auditorium, to inform you about the basics of copyright.
