This prize is awarded to young artists in the fields of photography and video art.
Backed by the LE BAL/ADAGP Prize for young artists, the Revelation is awarded every two years.
As well as prize money of €20,000, the artist features in a monographic exhibition at Le Bal, a filmed portrait broadcast on the Arte website, and an exhibition of the artist’s work at ADAGP.
Who can apply for this prize?
This prize is intended for photographers and/or video artists on the French scene who are under age 40.
It aims to support the winner for two years to complete a creative project already underway. Preference will be given to projects that fall within the broad spectrum of the image-document, combining political/social and esthetic issues.

These direct grants – ranging from €5,000 to €30,000 – were launched several years ago under ADAGP's Cultural Action program to allow artists to pursue and develop their work.
