The ADAGP grant – Etant Donnés 2020
In 2020, the ADAGP – Etant Donnés grant endows the monographic exhibitions of Michèle Magema and Vera Molnar. These two artists from the French scene will be exhibited in the United States in the fall of 2020 and in February 2021.
Initiated by the Cultural Services of the Embassy of France in the UnitedStates and their partner foundation, FACE (French American Cultural Exchange), Etant Donnés is a device which offers financial support to American non-profit institutions which wish to present the work of artists of the French scene.
ADAGP wished to support the program by offering two grants of € 15,000 each for assistance with the exhibition, in American institutions, of artists who are members of the ADAGP mid-career, of French nationality (or having resided in France for more than 5 years).

Screening and Installation of Video Works by Michele Magema
In February 2021 at the Aurora Picture Show (Houston) - Curatrice Mary Magsamen
Aurora Picture Show will devote an exceptional evening to the presentation of the work of Franco-Congolese artist Michèle Magema. Eight to ten short films will be broadcasted, followed by a discussion moderated by Raymond Gnanwo Hounfodji, doctor of French-speaking African literature and teacher at the University of Houston, and researcher specializing in post-colonial issues and oral literature.
"Vera Molnar: Variations"
From October 5, 2020 to February 1, 2021 at the Beall Center for Art and Technology - University of California, Irvine - Curator: David Familian
This personal exhibition will pay tribute to the entire career of Vera Molnar (born in 1924 in Hungary), a pioneer artist in computational and op art, still relatively unknown in the United States. This retrospective project will present a panorama of his practice through a vast set of works from his first experiments and series of computer-generated drawings, through his works of collages, paintings and installations, editions and multiples, while including his works the latest videos and multimedia.
