[Call for applications] 2026 Connexion Internationale grant
Because Spain is an essential stop in the careers of artists from the French scene, ADAGP (French authors’ society in the visual arts) has partnered with the Institut français de Madrid to launch the Connexion Internationale grant and financially support Spanish cultural venues planning to exhibit artists from the French scene.

How much is the grant?
Three €10,000 grants will be awarded to the following fields: Fine arts, Applied arts – Photography – Comics, and Children’s Books, amounting to an annual budget of €30,000. This grant cannot be awarded to individuals.
Who is this grant intended for? Who can apply?
This grant is intended for private or public non-profit Spanish cultural venues (with a permanent exhibition space (no mobile venues), such as museums, art centres, artist-run spaces, foundations, festivals, but also libraries for authors of comics and children’s books) which are preparing an exhibition of an artist from the French scene in Spain.
Which exhibitions?
This grant concerns monographic or group exhibitions of artists from the French scene (of any nationality that has been living or working in France for at least five years, or French nationals living abroad).
The exhibition must take place within two years of the grant being awarded. The artists can be living or deceased. No ADAGP membership is required.
What are the application requirements?
The organising institution must submit their application in English. The process is available via this link, available on ADAGP's website.
To access ADAGP's application platform, an account must be created.
The application file must include the following elements:
- Presentation of the Spanish cultural venue leading the project (status, contact details, artistic programme and international impact, press reviews) – 2 pages maximum;
- Presentation of the project: detailed description of the artistic project with event dates, clearly setting out the key ideas and objectives of the project, including the exhibition curator’s statement of intent outlining their curatorial vision (PDF – max. 2 pages).
If the exhibition project is being carried out in partnership with a French organisation, a presentation of the French organisation – max. 10 lines; - Commitment letter from the Spanish venue agreeing to present an exhibition by an artist from the French art scene
- CV(s) of the artist(s) from the French art scene, a link to each artist’s website or a portfolio of 10 works – 1 page;
- CV of the curator, including educational background, research experience and full contact details – 1 page.
- Detailed and balanced provisional budget showing the costs specific to the project (insurance, transport, copyright, etc.), income and financing plan (grants, subsidies or financial partnerships secured or in the process of being secured, including the amount requested from ADAGP) – 1 page;
- Estimated schedule.
Timeline for the call for applications
- Opening of the call for applications: 15 April to 15 July 2026 at 2.00 pm
- Jury deliberations and announcement of the winners: October 2026
