Call for applications. 2017 ADAGP Monograph
In order to help increase the dissemination of artists' work and support them through the very important step of publishing their first monograph, the ADAGP is now awarding assistance grants for first monographs.
What is the amount of the grant?
Each grant is worth 15,000 euros.
Who can apply?
· Artists should have a professional career spanning at least 10 years (exhibitions, participation in art fairs, etc.)
· They should also have been a member of the ADAGP for at least 3 years
· The publication project should be presented by the artist in association with a publisher or gallery
For what kind of publication?
· The publication should be the artist's first monograph
· The publication should be part of an exhibition (in a gallery, an art centre, etc.)
· The work should be published within 2 years from the date the grant is awarded
· Print run of at least 500 copies
What is the application process?
The candidate should send their complete application, typed and saved in pdf format, in French and by email only to the following address: monographie@adagp.fr, making sure to include the following elements:
1. The completed and signed form
2. Artist's portfolio
· Presentation of the monograph project (approximately one typed page), to include the technical data of the publication (languages of the text, number of pages, number of illustrations, format, print run, publication date, etc.)
· The CV of the author or collective the monograph relates to
· A copy of both sides of a form of ID (ID card, passport)
· A statement of intent regarding the written content of the publication and the CV of the text's author
· An initial mock-up of the publication (4-5 pages or statement of intent from the graphic designer) and the CV of the graphic designer
· 10 captioned digital photographs of works illustrating the publication project
· A statement of intent from the publishing house or gallery as to its commitment to publishing the planned monograph
2. Technical portfolio
· A detailed budget (with the production points of the publication)
· A detailed financing plan with the costed financial contributions from the gallery, the publisher, the different partners, etc. specifying the amounts acquired and in the process of being acquired
· Production quotes, excl. tax, dated and signed for all production points of the publication
· A schedule

· Jury meeting: November 2017
· Announcement of artists awarded the grant: November 2017
