This year the Rencontres d'Arles approach 6 themes: « Relecture, the history of photography revisited », through the exhibitions of Walker Evans and Stephen Shore ; « Résonances, photography in dialogue »; « I am writing to you from a far-off country», coup de projecteur sur une partie du monde ; « The platforms of the visible » ; « Odd collectors» ; « Emergences », the Prix Découverte , etc. The 39 commissaires of the Rencontres will guide you along 35 exhibitions, projections by night, debates, conferences, books signature…
True revealer of tendancies, the Rencontres d’Arles is an event of dialogue andd exchanges. This year, « Résonances, in photography » crosses the world of music (Matthieu Chedid looks at Martin Parr's work with the MMM project, « Total Records » writes again the history of the médium through 500 disc jackets), of cinema (Abbas Kiarostami's sery about the Louvre and the tribute to the masters of photography by Sandro Miller ), architecture and philosophy (« Barthes is back »).
