February: collective rights

Some copyrights are subject to compulsory collective management by societies of authors. They cannot therefore be the subject of individual negotiations or transfers between authors and users.

As a member of ADAGP, you will receive the following collective rights from France and abroad :

• Remuneration for private copying of images and private copying of audiovisual works

• TV retransmission rights

• Reprography rights (photocopying)

• Educational rights

• Lending rights, remuneration for authors of books lent in libraries

Please note Artists-authors who are members of Sofia can also join ADAGP to receive their complementary collective rights (above). 

These collective rights are collected and distributed by ADAGP.

To benefit fully from them, complete the Press, Book and TV declaration forms for the previous year before 28 February via your ADAGP Members' Area.

Also declare foreign book and press editions, especially from Germany, Spain, Great Britain and the Netherlands. ADAGP will then be able to collect and pay you the royalties due to you.

Remuneration for educational use does not require any declaration, as your ADAGP membership automatically gives you this right.
