Réforme of the RAAP

25 Oct 2016

The reform of the RAAP supplementary pension scheme, which came into force this year, provides for a contribution rate of 5% in 2017 or a reduced rate of 4% under certain conditions.

The current system based on contribution classes is not abolished as soon as the new system is introduced and you may opt to keep to the contribution classes system for 10 years if you wish.

Until the end of 2016, you may change your contribution class in order to “overcontribute” if you consider it of benefit to you.

Note that this option of changing classes will no longer be available from 1 January 2017.
