How to register my work ?

You can register your work :

- with a court officer or a solicitor

- by Soleau envelope, submitted to the Institut National de la Propriété Industrielle in Paris, or to the regional offices of the I.N.P.I. or registries of commercial courts for people living in other areas of France.

- by delivery to yourself or a third party of a registered letter containing the document identifying the work. The envelope must be kept sealed: it must only be opened by a court when or if it is called to decide on a dispute. Important: frequently, courts refuse to take this proof into account if there is any possible doubt of falsification. Therefore, it is recommended to take all necessary precautions to guarantee the integrity of the letter (seal the envelope, wrap it round with tape, affix the registered post sticker on the flap of the envelope etc.).

- with the Société civile des Auteurs Multimédias and Société des Gens de Lettres.

Important : registration attests to the date and contents but is not proof of paternity.
