In order to defend the rights of artists at the national level, as well as the international level, ADAGP advocates for the rights of artists with the public authorities and institutions. The organization has significantly contributed to establishing social protection for artists and extending the droit de suite throughout Europe.

As such, ADAGP is a member of several organizations and institutions involved in defending artists’ rights, including the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC), which brings together more than 200 societies of authors from all the artistic fields.

ADAGP’s Cultural Action program voted by the General Assembly and allocated after an examination of applications for financing by the Cultural Action Commission composed of 13 ADAGP members, supports more than 100 structures and events. ADAGP’s cultural action showcases artists on the French scene and promotes their work in France and internationally.

ADAGP also provides training for artists and awards grants and "Revelations" prizes. Prizes are awarded to eight winners, each from one of the disciplines in the ADAGP repertoire.
